Where to discuss

Dear soccer teams / mentors / referees / chairs / people,

I am using discord and I like it.
I am using google docs and I like it.
I am using WhatsApp an I like it
I am using this forum and I love it.

But.

We should all agree to one discussion canal to use.
Otherwise information is doubled or worse and more likely gets lost.

I hate having a question and get an answer like
“we decided this weeks ago in our mailing-list/discord-server/other”

I suggest using this forum as it has a better information/gossip ratio than discord or others, but I am fine with any system as long it is the only system.

What do you think?

Hi Roland,

that is a very good point. I’ll start with the easy ones: No officiall WhatsApp exists, we don’t use the mailing list and Google Docs is our internal documents that we will link to on Forum/Discord as we need to for community feedback things (Slack gets used by committees, Regional Representatives and so on but that doesn’t need to be followed to be involved in community feedback and rules discussions, only if you’re e.g. regional rep and need to deal with logistics). The Discord and the Forum we try to keep “in sync” insofar as that when we are actively calling for feedback (e.g. the TDP form or awards rubrics) we’ll post on both. We didn’t get a lot of it this time (I think because of the timing in the season) but for the rule discussions we expect more and if nobody else already has before me I’ll be shuttling information back and forth so that all arguments make it to the forum thread and we don’t end up having different discussions on Discord and Forum. The Forum will remain the medium “of record” so we’ll always make sure it gets the final results and that all opinions that went into determining those get represented even if the original Discord posters don’t personally put them here.

Does that help at all?

Cheers
David
