Using the Huskylens AI-Based Camera

To the committee,

For some time, I’ve noticed discussions on this forum about the use of AI-based cameras, but I still have some doubts and would like to know how this will be handled for 2026.

The Huskylens camera doesn’t allow much programming or internal model adjustment. It has a few more advanced features, such as line tracking, which outputs the direction of the detected line, and simpler ones like color recognition, which outputs the coordinates of a previously taught color. However, all of these are configured using the camera’s onboard buttons, and their results can be viewed on the built-in screen — there’s no need to manually program the learning process.

First, I’d like to know whether the use of this camera, or any of its specific functions, is prohibited or not in the competition. I’d also like to know if there are any penalties or bonuses for teams using this device.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned before on the forum, but with so many discussions, I wasn’t able to fully understand the case regarding the Huskylens. From this post — 2025 RCJ Rescue Rule Changes — I understood that it was allowed, but later there were several other discussions that confused me and seemed to contradict that.

As @Francisco.Gaspar mentioned in this post — Clarification on the Use of AI - #6 by Francisco.Gaspar — I also believe that, just as we don’t see teams winding coils to build their own motors from scratch, devices like the Huskylens should also be allowed.

Apologies for any language mistakes, as I don’t speak English and I’m translating this text using the internet.
