However, the simulator seems to count times for both fields.
Is it the overall time for both fields which counts, or just the time during which Robot 2 is active?

So, if robot1 continues running, it does not affect the decision who will be the winner.

Unfortunately it does not. I was not worrying about Robot1 continuing to run.
My question is:

Assume there are two teams A and B.
Team A: Robot 1 explores Field 1 for 6 minutes, passes to Robot 2 who finishes in 1 Minute. That is, the overall time is 7 minutes, Robot 2 is active for 1 minute.
Team B: Robot 1 explores Field 1 for 3 minutes, passes to Robot 2 who finishes in 2 minutes. That is, the overall time is 5 minutes, Robot 2 is active for 2 minutes.
Who is the winner?
