Hi, our team was wondering if there are any current ‘expected path’ regulations, as in many videos we saw, the line seemed to split into 2, and the robot usually has no way of knowing whether to go straight or not. Also, are there any rules regarding the distance between two lines? We saw some tiles with another line (~1cm away from the main one) that apparently should be ignored. Thanks!
Are you sure you are watching videos of RoboCup Junior Rescue Line? There are also other competitions that include line following. Please refer to the official rules. RCJ Rescue Line - RoboCupJunior iirc there must be at least 10 cm between the line and any other line. For intersections, you will have green markers. There are Entry competitions (held in national and regional competitions) where you also have intersections without markers but with a predefined turning direction (always left or always right).
