Question about ramp scoring in RoboCupJunior Rescue Line Rules 2026

Dear RCJ Rescue Committee.
I have read the “RoboCupJunior Rescue Line Rules 2026 (RCJRescueLine2026-final.pdf)” and have a question.

3.7.4. The ramp points will be awarded for each individual ramp tile instead of the entire ramp.

5.6.1. A ramp as a hazard accounts for all inclined tiles that make up one ramp. Point allocations are 10 points per ramp.

Rule 3.7.4 states that even if multiple ramp tiles are consecutive, points are awarded for each tile. On the other hand, Rule 5.6.1 states that multiple consecutive ramp tiles are considered a single ramp, and the entire ramp is worth 10 points.

I believe these descriptions in Rules 3.7.4 and 5.6.1 appear to be contradictory.
Could you please clarify the correct interpretation of the ramp scoring?

Best regards,
MASA

Questioned moved to the Rescue Line forum section!

Since 3.7.4. was changed most recently (together with the summary; for the 2025 rules), I would interpret this as the relevant rule. Rule 5.6.1. was just not updated.

5.6.1. should have “A ramp as a hazard accounts for all inclined tiles that make up one ramp.” removed and say “10 points per ramp tile” later.
Also, 5.6.4. should speak about “ramp tiles” (and “gap tiles” and “speed bump tiles”) to be more specific.

Dear Masa,

answering your question…

The ramp points will be awarded for each individual ramp tile, so if the ramp consists of single or multiple tiles, you will be awarded the ramp points for each tile alone, not the entire ramp.

For example, if the ramp consists of two tiles, you will be awarded the ramp points for each tile in the ramp, meaning two times.

I hope this has made it clear for you.
We will make sure to make it clear in the next year’s rule set.

Dear Mahmoud
Thank you for your answer to my question.
I understand that the points for the ramp are awarded per ramp tile.

In that case,

3.7.4. The ramp points will be awarded for each individual ramp tile instead of the entire ramp.

is correct, but

5.6.1. A ramp as a hazard accounts for all inclined tiles that make up one ramp. Point allocations are 10 points per ramp.

The rule written here appears to be incorrect.
Could you please correct the error in the rule?

Best regards,
MASA

It will be corrected in the next year’s rules

Regards,
Mahmoud
