It is soon going to be 10 years since the weight of the robots was the most significant difference between the Lightweight and Open leagues. So we are considering renaming the leagues to something that describes them better.
We’ve mulled this thought before but the switch in the ball for next year may be the best opportunity to do it we’ll get in a while.

(We will of course retain “formerly known as Lightweight League” and “formerly known as Open League” in the rules for a while to minimize any confusion the new names may cause).
