I have a question regarding the Kicker power in the 2025 rules for 1vs1 Lightweight. The rules clarify that the kicker power test is passed if the ball does not cross into the opposite half of the field. Does that mean it cant cross into the opposite half of the field at all, because that seems a bit low, or is it similar to the 2vs2 rules that say that the ball has to bounce off the opposite goal first and then not cross into the other half?
Especially for “Standard Kit” League this is on purpose as it is impractical to make a kicker that does more than this from Lego/Fischertechnik/Vex etc. and we want to keep existing Lego kits competitive as they are still a popular tool that many schools can use very cost effectively as they can be reused for many years. For 1v1 Lightweight I would tend to agree but as we didn’t get much feedback about the 1v1 rules and participation was pleasantly high we didn’t look to change this. It is definitely on the list to maybe differentiate that for the next season. As tournaments for the current season are starting we’re not going to change it for 2025
Very clear! I hope it will clear to referees too, every grade of competition (territorial, national, European).
