Hi, I am participating with my team in this year’s competition.
It specifies on the rules that there can be a maximum of 2 buttons, one for battery and one for start (excluding commercial controllers). On my team’s robot there is a joystick for Arduino to navigate a menu on our screen.
Can we keep it on the robot during the run (We would still have the button to start/stop it and not touch the joystick)? If not, is it legal to disconnect it (with no cable connected) for the run but keep it mounted on the robot? Or is it necessary to remove it?

Yes, if you want to use the joystick during calibration or testing, it is allowed. You do not need to disconnect/remove it from the robot during the run.
