GPS Sensor Usage

Hi,

My team and I are experimenting with using a GPS sensor. We are wondering since it comunicates with a satelite, would it violate rule 4.1.1 “Robots must be controlled autonomously. Using a remote control, manual control, or passing information (by external sensors, cables, wirelessly, etc.) to the robot is not allowed.”

I am not authorized to say “yes” or “no” though I can tell you that Simulation Rescue Maze does use a (simulated) GPS. If you did use a GPS how do you plan on achieving the accuracy you need? Most consumer GPS’s are off by meters and the sub-centimeter ones are very slow and susceptible to being inside a building.
