Clarification about “fake victims (objects)” in Rule 3.10.5 – Rescue Line 2026

Hello everyone,

I want to ask for clarification regarding Rule 3.10.5 on 2026.03.29 in the RoboCupJunior Rescue Line 2026 rules:

“The organizers may place fake victims (objects or images) that resemble real victims in the evacuation zone. Robots should ignore them.”

Could the committee clarify what is meant by “objects”?

Specifically, what physical characteristics (eg. shape, reflectivity, or conductivity) can these fake objects have?

Best Regards,

Hello @Joe.kafashha,

Thanks for asking.

To answer your question, they can be anything that resemble real victims; however, they will not have the same characteristics as the real victims.

A victim is:
4-5 cm diameter sphere with an off-center center of mass and a maximum weight of 80 g

a. Dead victims are black and not electrically conductive.
b. Living victims are silver, reflect light, and are electrically conductive.

In other words, as an example:
If you find a ball (or any other object) that does not satisfy the real victim characteristics (size, shape, color, conductivity), you should ignore it.

an image of the victim does not satisfy the real victim characteristics (in this case: size and shape is not satisfied), which mean you should ignore it

I hope this have clarified it.

Regards,
