Checkpoint Rule 3.3.2

Hi everyone ,

Regarding the checkpoint location for the 2020 Rules , May someone clarify the 3.3.2 ?
rule 3.3.2 says …

3.3.2 The checkpoint marker is a marker that indicates for humans which tiles are checkpoints. It can be 5 mm
to 12mm thick and up to 70 mm in diameter. The number of checkpoint markers and their locations will be
predetermined by the field designers.

So dose that mean the teams are not able to chose where they want to place the checkpoints anymore ?
and the Judge will place them on the field by his decision?
and is it the same place for all the team on the same round or the judge can change them for each team at the same round ?
( asking thins question just for the fair , because I think it should be the same for all the team on the same round )

please if anyone can explain this rule in details because the national competition is soon and we want to run the event.

Regards,
Mahmood Madi,
Chief-Judge RCJ
Dubai-UAE.
