Please have a look at the draft of the scoring system and rubrics for the 2025 RoboCupJunior Soccer tournament in Brazil and let us know what you think. We are especially interested in things that may be hard to understand or easy to misunderstand so we can clarify. Other than that we’re not going to make substantial changes (unless really big mistakes are found) for 2025 but are very interested in all suggestions you have for 2026.
The rubrics are still based on those @Mike created for the 2022 season but this year we had a couple more changes not so much in spirit as in the details (discussed in committee and implemented mostly by @willplum who would have released earlier if I hadn’t been as last minute with a couple of changes).
Summary of most significant changes:
- add “Excellent” above “Developing” “Satisfactory” and “Proficient” to better be able to differentiate between the many very good teams we see
- Add Community Award based closely on the way Rescue is doing it (OnStage did this last year and we now also have it)
- Removal of the “Individual Game High Rank” trophy: it was confusing and never really made that much sense so we now award a certificate for the team that wins the 2v2 tournament even if they already get one of the overall 1st/2nd/3rd trophies
- Added teamwork task to the interview
- Split Documentation and Sportsmanship into separate categories
- Added a couple more standard questions for the interviews for teams to be able to prepare more for what they may be asked (if you have suggestions for questions to add there please post them here as well)
- A number of smaller phrasing changes too small to list here
