2.7.5. The line along the ramps can contain gaps, speed bumps , intersections, obstacles and debris

Hello!

2.7.5. The line along the ramps can contain gaps, speed bumps , intersections, obstacles and debris.

How can the robot avoid the obstacle on the ramp, if the robot itself e.g. 20 cm wide, the width of the ramp is 1 tile, so 30 cm wide? How wide should this obstacle be and how far from the edge of the ramp should it be?

Hi @RobotTeam,

Please refer to rule 2.5.7 : Obstacles will not be placed closer than 25 cm from the edge of the field (including edges of tiles that are elevated by ramps) and inclined tiles.

I have the same question as @RobotTeam. I am aware of rule 2.5.7 stating obstacles will not be placed closer than 25cm from the edge of the field. Now obstacles can be on ramps because of rule 2.7.5. So that means we will need to build ramps that are 2 tiles wide to prepare for competition. Is that correct?

@jeremy.desmond,
you are correct, the obstacle cannot be placed on a ramp that is just one tile wide. Additionally, if the line would be in the middle of the tile, the ramp would need to be three tiles wide in order for the organizers to place the obstacle on it (25 cm has to be respected for both sides).
